PROCEDURE
REPLACE CVT FLUID
Lift the vehicle. [*1]
Note
Set the vehicle on a lift so that the vehicle is kept level when it is lifted up (make sure the tilt angle from the front to rear of the vehicle is within +/- 1°).
Remove the engine under cover LH.
Remove the refill plug and gasket from the continuously variable transaxle. [*2]
Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the continuously variable transaxle. [*3]

Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube from the oil pan and drain the continuously variable transaxle fluid. [*4]
Measure the amount of fluid that you drained. [*5]
Tech Tips
Add the same amount of fluid in step 8.
Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube to the oil pan. [*6]
Temporarily install the gasket and the overflow plug. [*7]
Tech Tips
Reuse the old gasket. The plug will be removed again to adjust the fluid level.
Fill fluid from the refill hole with the same amount of fluid as you drained in step 5.
Note
Use Toyota Genuine CVT fluid FE.
Temporarily install the gasket and refill plug to avoid fluid spillage. [*9]
Tech Tips
Reuse the old gasket. The plug will be removed again to adjust the fluid level.
Lower the vehicle.[*10]
Start the engine.[*11]
Slowly move shift lever from P to D, and then back to P.[*12]
Allow the engine to idle for 30 seconds to warm it up.[*13]
Turn the ignition switch off.[*14]
Repeat steps [*1] to [*14].
Repeat steps [*1] to [*14].
