CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE SYSTEM, Diagnostic DTC:P0942

DTC Code DTC Name
P0942 Hydraulic Pressure Unit

DESCRIPTION

When the engine automatically stops, the front oil pump of the continuously variable transaxle also stops. For smooth starting of the vehicle, the hydraulic pressure in the continuously variable transaxle is maintained by driving the electric oil pump between the engine automatic stop and the vehicle start.

DTC No.

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT

    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / DTC.

    5. Check for DTCs of the stop and start system.

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER

    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Active Test.

    5. In accordance with the display on the tester, perform the Active Test.

      • More than 10 seconds have passed since the last oil pump operation.

      • The ignition switch is on or the stop and start system is controlled.

Perform Active Test while confirming the operation sound of the oil pump.
    6. Inspect the belt clamping pressure while operating the electric oil pump in Active Test.

  4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

    Note

    • Performing reset memory will clear the learned values of both the yaw rate sensor (deceleration sensor 0 point calibration) and CVT oil pressure (CVT oil pressure calibration). Make sure to perform reset memory, yaw rate sensor 0 point calibration and CVT oil pressure calibration when replacing any of the parts shown in the following table:

      Replaced Part

      • Continuously variable transaxle assembly

      • ECM

      • Skid control computer (w/o VSC)

      • Oil pressure sensor

      • Deceleration sensor (w/o VSC)

      • Airbag sensor assembly (Yaw rate sensor) (w/ VSC)

    • After performing reset memory, always perform yaw rate sensor (deceleration sensor 0 point) calibration first, and then CVT oil pressure calibration.

    • Always perform 0 point calibration with the vehicle on level ground.

    • Do not shake or vibrate the vehicle during 0 point calibration.

    1. Using the intelligent tester, perform reset memory, deceleration sensor 0 point calibration and CVT oil pressure calibration Click here.

    2. Check that no DTC is stored.
