PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH OPERATION

   
   

   1. Apply the parking brake and turn the ignition switch to ON.

   2. Step on the brake pedal and check that the engine starts when the shift lever is in N or P, but does not start in the other positions.

   3. Check that the back-up lights illuminate and the reverse warning buzzer sounds when the shift lever is in R, and that they do not function with the shift lever in the other positions.
