  1. INSPECT PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Component without harness connected

      (Pattern Select Switch Assembly)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 (MSW2) - 4 (MSW1) ON Below 1 Ω
      1 (MSW2) - 4 (MSW1) OFF 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly.

    2. Apply battery voltage to the terminals of the pattern select switch and check the illumination condition of the pattern select switch.

      OK
      Measurement Connection Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 3 (MSW+)

      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 (MSW-)

      		 Illuminates

      Note


      • If the positive (+) lead and negative (-) lead are incorrectly connected, the pattern select switch indicator does not illuminate.

      • If the voltage is too low, the pattern select switch indicator does not illuminate.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the pattern select switch assembly.
