OIL PAN REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

  2. DRAIN CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSAXLE FLUID


    1. A005KTC

      Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the transaxle oil pan sub-assembly.

    2. A005I5G

      Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube from the oil pan and drain the fluid.

    3. Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube to the oil pan.

      Torque:
      1.7 N*m  { 17 kgf*cm, 15 in.*lbf }
    4. Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, install a new gasket and the overflow plug to the oil pan.

      Torque:
      40 N*m  { 408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf }
  3. REMOVE TRANSAXLE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A005JIN

      Remove the 16 bolts and oil pan from the transaxle.

      Note

      Some fluid will remain in the oil pan. To prevent the fluid from spilling, place a container under the oil pan, and then carefully remove all the pan bolts and oil pan assembly.

    2. Remove the gasket from the oil pan.

      Remove the 3 magnets from the oil pan.

      Note


      • Clean the oil pan and remove any metal particles, sludge, etc.

      • Clean off any metal particles that adhere to the magnets.
