SHIFT AND SELECT ACTUATOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL RING PIN

      *a Protrusion Height

      Using a plastic-faced hammer tap in 2 new ring pins to the specified protrusion height.

      Protrusion height
      5.2 to 5.8 mm (0.205 to 0.228 in.)

  2. INSTALL TRANSMISSION BREATHER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the breather hose onto the shift and select actuator.

    2. Install the transmission breather sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

  3. INSTALL SHIFT AND SELECT ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

      *1 Seal Packing

      Apply FIPG to the shift and select actuator as shown in the illustration.

      FIPG
      Toyota Genuine Seal Packing 1281, Three Bond 1281 or equivalent

      Note


      • Remove any oil from the contact surfaces.

      • Assemble the parts within 10 minutes of application. Otherwise, the packing (FIPG) material must be removed and reapplied.

    2. Install the wire harness clamp bracket with the 6 bolts.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • Securely engage the shift sensor shaft in the shift reverse shift head.

      • Securely engage the select lever gear engagement in the inner select lever.

    3. Connect the connectors and install the wire harness.

  4. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET


    1. Install the wire harness clamp bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

    2. Install the wire harness onto the wire harness clamp bracket.

  5. INSTALL AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR HOSE

    Click here

  7. INSTALL BATTERY CARRIER

    Click here

  8. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY

    Click here

  9. INSTALL BATTERY

    Click here

  10. BLEED CLUTCH LINE

  11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION OF MULTI-MODE MANUAL TRANSMISSION ECU

  12. PERFORM LEARNING OF MULTI-MODE MANUAL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

  13. PERFORM SYNCHRONIZATION POSITION CALIBRATION
