STOP AND START SYSTEM FAIL-SAFE CHART

If any of the following DTCs are stored, the engine stop and start ECU enters fail-safe mode to preserve vehicle operability.

  • Stop and Start system control is prohibited

  • Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped due to Stop and Start system control

All of the following conditions continue for 10 seconds:


  • Normal communication with ECM

  • Engine speed 500 rpm or more

  • Engine speed (communication signal) 500 rpm or more

  • Difference between engine speed via pulse signal and engine speed via communication signal is less than 100 rpm

P0562
  • Generator circuit

  • Low battery voltage

  • AM21 voltage monitor


  • Stop and Start system control is prohibited

  • Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped due to Stop and Start system control

Both of the following conditions continue for at least 3 seconds while the engine is stopped due to Stop and Start system control and the generator is not generating electricity:


  • +B voltage 11.5 V or more

  • AM21 voltage 3.5 V or more

  • Engine stopped

P060B Analog to digital converter (Engine stop and start ECU)
  • Stop and Start system control is prohibited

  • Engine is automatically restarted if a DTC is stored while the engine is stopped due to Stop and Start system control

After returning the normal state, turn the ignition switch to ON again.

  • The number of starter operations stored in the ECU is cleared (after the starter is replaced)

  • Communication with ECM returns to normal and one of the following conditions (a) and (b) are met:


    1. When ECM STA is ON, starter signal is ON (determined if it remains ON for 0.3 seconds)

    2. When ECM STA is OFF, starter signal is OFF (determined if it remains OFF for 5 seconds)
