P0503 Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

If a malfunction (a rapid change in vehicle speed) in the vehicle speed signal being output from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) is detected while cruise control is in operation, the ECM determines there to be a momentary interruption or noise and stores a DTC.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC (BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS)


    1. Check for DTCs.

  2. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Perform the following to make sure the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.


      1. Drive the vehicle at a speed of approximately 40 km/h (25 mph) or more.

      2. Turn the cruise control main switch on.

      3. Push the cruise control main switch to -SET to activate cruise control.
