STARTER(w/ Stop And Start System) DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE REPAIR SERVICE STARTER KIT

      Remove the nut and disconnect the lead wire from the terminal C.

      Remove the 2 nuts and the repair service starter kit from the starter drive housing assembly.

      Remove the cover from the starter drive housing assembly.

  2. REMOVE STARTER COMMUTATOR END FRAME ASSEMBLY

      Using a "TORX" socket wrench T25, remove the 2 through bolts.

      *1 Rubber Seal

      While pressing the pinion gear toward the end frame through the starter drive housing assembly, remove the rubber seal from the housing.

    3. Remove the starter yoke assembly, starter armature with clutch assembly and starter commutator end frame assembly from the starter drive housing assembly.

      Remove the 2 screws and starter commutator end frame assembly.

      Note

      While holding down the lead wire, remove the starter commutator end frame assembly.

  3. REMOVE STARTER BRUSH HOLDER ASSEMBLY

      Using a screwdriver, hold the spring back and disconnect the brush from the starter brush holder assembly.

    2. Disconnect the 4 brushes, and remove the starter brush holder assembly.

  4. REMOVE STARTER ARMATURE WITH CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

      Remove the starter armature with clutch assembly from the starter yoke assembly.

  5. REMOVE PLANETARY GEAR AND WASHER

      Remove the 3 planetary gears and washer from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.

  6. REMOVE STARTER CENTER BEARING CLUTCH SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *2 Starter Center Bearing Clutch Sub-assembly

      Remove the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly from the starter drive housing assembly.

      Remove the collar space from the starter center bearing clutch sub-assembly.
