OIL LEVEL SENSOR INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR


    1. Inspect upper level switch resistance.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        A005JE9E03
        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        2 (E) - 3 (OILH) Level switch on Below 500 mΩ
        Level switch off 1 MΩ or higher

        *1 Upper Level Switch - -
        *a Upper side switch off oil level *b Off
        *c On *d

        Component without harness connected

        (Engine Oil Level Sensor)
        *e 10.8 mm (0.425 in.) - -

        If the result is not as specified, replace the engine oil level sensor.

    2. Inspect lower level switch resistance.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        A005I2AE02
        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        1 (LVL) - 2 (E) Level switch on Below 500 mΩ
        Level switch off 1 MΩ or higher

        *1 Lower Level Switch - -
        *a Lower side switch off oil level *b Off
        *c On *d

        Component without harness connected

        (Engine Oil Level Sensor)
        *e 10.8 mm (0.425 in.) - -

        If the result is not as specified, replace the engine oil level sensor.
