EXHAUST MANIFOLD INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR


    1. Install the No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD


    1. Install a new exhaust manifold to head gasket.

    2. Temporarily install the exhaust manifold and manifold support bracket onto the cylinder head sub-assembly with the 6 bolts and new 4 nuts.

    3. A005HYLE02

      Tighten the 3 bolts and 4 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      27 N*m  { 275 kgf*cm, 20 ft.*lbf }

    4. Connect the No. 3 water by-pass hose and No. 4 water by-pass hose.

  3. INSTALL MANIFOLD SUPPORT BRACKET


    1. Tighten the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      44 N*m  { 449 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL DRIVE SHAFT HEAT INSULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A005GHME01

      Temporarily install the drive shaft heat insulator sub-assembly with the 3 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

    2. A005HTGE01

      Tighten the 3 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR


    1. Install the No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

    2. Install the wire harness bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      30 N*m  { 306 kgf*cm, 22 ft.*lbf }

    3. Engage the 2 wire harness clamps and install the wire harness.

  6. CONNECT CHECK VALVE TO CONNECTOR TUBE HOSE


    1. Connect the check valve to connector tube hose.

  7. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  8. INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR

  9. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL

  10. INSTALL INNER COWL TOP TO COWL BRACE

    Click here

  11. INSTALL FRONT AIR SHUTTER SEAL RH

    Click here

  12. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 VENTILATOR SEAL

    Click here

  13. INSTALL INNER LOWER COWL TOP REINFORCEMENT

    Click here

  14. INSTALL COWL TOP INSIDE CORNER PANEL RH

    Click here

  15. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEBMLY

  16. ADD COOLANT

    Click here

  17. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK

    Click here

  18. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
