FUEL INJECTOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

    A005M46E04

    1. Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to new O-rings, then install one onto each fuel injector.

    2. Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to the contact surfaces of the fuel delivery pipe and the O-ring on the fuel injector.

      While turning the fuel injector left and right, install it onto the fuel delivery pipe.

      Note


      • Do not twist the O-ring.

      • After installing the fuel injectors, check that they turn smoothly. If not, replace the O-ring with a new one.

  2. INSTALL INJECTOR VIBRATION INSULATOR


    1. Install the 4 new injector vibration insulators onto the cylinder head.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER


    1. Install the 2 No. 1 delivery pipe spacers onto the cylinder head.

      Note

      Install the delivery pipe No. 1 spacer in the correct direction.

  4. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly with the 4 fuel injectors, and install the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      19 N*m  { 194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • Do not drop the fuel injectors when installing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      • Check that the fuel injectors rotate smoothly after installing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Install the fuel delivery pipe bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      9.0 N*m  { 92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf }

    3. Install the wire harness bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      11 N*m  { 112 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf }

    4. Insert the EGR gas temperature sensor bracket with bolt.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf }

    5. Connect the EGR gas temperature sensor connector.

    6. Connect the EGR valve connector from the EGR valve assembly.

    7. Connect the 4 fuel injector connectors.

    8. Connect the 4 ignition coil connectors.

  5. CONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Line up the pipe and connector and push them together until a "click" sound heard.

      Note


      • Check that there are no scratches or foreign objects on the connecting part.

      • If the pipe is difficult to push into the connector, apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the tip of the pipe and reinsert it.

      • After connecting, check that the pipe and connector are securely connected by pulling on them.

    2. Install the No. 2 fuel pipe clamp.

  6. CONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE


    1. Connect No. 2 ventilation hose.

  7. CONNECT VENTILATION HOSE


    1. Connect the ventilation hose.

  8. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK

  9. INSPECT FOR ENGINE OIL LEAK
