FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

  2. DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE

      Disconnect the ventilation hose.

  3. DISCONNECT FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE ASSEMBLY


    1. Disconnect the fuel vapor feed hose assembly.

  4. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

      Disconnect the 4 fuel injector connectors.

    2. Disconnect the EGR valve connector from the EGR valve assembly.

    3. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.

    4. Disconnect the camshaft oil control valve connector.

    5. Disconnect the 3 wire harness clamps.

    6. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire.

  5. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the No. 1 EFI fuel pipe clamp.

      Pinch the retainer of the fuel tube connector, then pull the fuel tube connector to disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      Note


      • Check for foreign matter on the fuel tube around the fuel tube connector. Clean it if necessary. Foreign matter can affect the ability of the O-ring to seal the fuel tube connector and fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      • Do not use any tools to separate the fuel tube connector and fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      • Do not forcibly bend, kink or twist the nylon tube.

      • Keep the fuel tube connector and fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly free from foreign matter.

      • If the fuel tube connector and fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly are stuck, push and pull to release them.

      • Put the fuel tube connector and fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly in plastic bags to prevent damage and contamination.

  6. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt and wire harness bracket.

    2. Remove the bolt and fuel delivery pipe bracket.

    3. A005MAY

      Remove the 2 bolts and fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly with the 4 fuel injector assemblies.

      Note

      Do not drop the fuel injector assemblies when removing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 DELIVERY PIPE SPACER

      Remove the 2 No. 1 delivery pipe spacers.

  8. REMOVE INJECTOR VIBRATION INSULATOR

      Remove the 4 injector vibration insulators.

  9. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

      Pull the 4 fuel injector assemblies out of the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from each fuel injector.

    3. For reinstallation, attach a tag or label to each injector shaft.

      Note

      Prevent entry of foreign matter by covering the fuel injectors with plastic bags.
