FUEL TANK INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 2 FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE SUPPORT

      Engage the clamp and install the No. 2 fuel tank filler pipe support as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 FUEL TANK FILLER PIPE SUPPORT

      Install the No. 1 fuel tank filler pipe support as shown in the illustration.

  3. INSTALL FUEL HOSE CLAMP


    1. Install the fuel hose clamp.

  4. INSTALL FUEL RETURN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the guide and install the fuel return tube onto the fuel tank.

  5. INSTALL FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the guide and install the fuel tank main tube onto the fuel tank.

  6. INSTALL FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY


    1. Clean and degrease the bolt holes.

    2. Set the fuel tank on the engine lifter.

    3. Install the fuel tank with 4 new bolts.

      Torque:
      14 N*m  { 146 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • Do not reuse any of the bolts.

      • Make sure that the fuel tank does not fall.

    4. Engage the clip and install the bracket with the bolt.

      Torque:
      34 N*m  { 347 kgf*cm, 25 ft.*lbf }

  7. CONNECT FUEL RETURN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *2 O-ring
      *3 Fuel Pipe
      *a Lock
      *b Unlock

      Line up the pipe and connector and push them together until a "click" sound is heard. Lock them by pushing in the retainer.

      Note


      • Check that there are no scratches or foreign objects on the connecting part.

      • After installing the retainer, check that the fuel return tube is securely connected by pulling on it.

  8. CONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Line up the pipe and connector and push them together until a "click" sound is heard.

    2. Push the checker in to lock it.

      Note


      • Check that there are no scratches or foreign objects on the connecting part.

      • After installing the retainer, check that the fuel tank main tube is securely connected by pulling on it.

      • After installing the checker, check that the fuel tank main tube is securely connected by pulling on it.

  9. INSTALL FUEL TANK COVER VENT CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the fuel tank cover vent case sub-assembly with the bolt, nut and clip.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  10. INSTALL FRONT NO. 4 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR


    1. Install the front No. 4 floor heat insulator with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  11. INSTALL FUEL SUCTION TUBE SET GASKET

  12. INSTALL FUEL TANK VENT TUBE WITH SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
