ENGINE UNIT REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REPLACE STUD BOLT


    1. Using "TORX" socket wrenches E6 and E8, remove the 4 stud bolts.

    2. Using "TORX" socket wrenches E6 and E8, install the 4 stud bolts.

      Torque:
      Stud bolt A
      5.0 N*m  { 51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf }
      Stud bolt B
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

  2. REPLACE TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL


    1. A005H4CE02

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the oil seal.

    2. A005KAWE01

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the new oil seal until its surface is flush with the timing chain cover edge.

      Note

      Tap the oil seal in from a vertical position.

    3. Apply MP grease to the new oil seal lip.

      Note

      Keep the lip free of foreign matter.

  3. REPLACE ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL


    1. A005LCDE01

      *1 Cut Position
      *2 Protective Tape

      Using a knife, cut off the oil seal lip.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in tape, pry out the oil seal.

      Note

      After removing, check the crankshaft for any damage. If damaged, smooth the surface with 400-grit sandpaper.

    3. Apply MP grease to a new oil seal lip.

      Note

      Keep the lip free of foreign matter.

    4. A005IU7E01

      Using SST and a hammer, tap in the new oil seal until its surface is flush with the cylinder block edge.

      -0.1 to 0 mm (-0.0394 to 0 in.)

      Note


      • Tap the oil seal in from a vertical position.

      • Wipe any extra grease off the crankshaft.
