      Component without harness connected

      (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (E2) - 2 (THW) 20°C (68°F) 2.28 to 2.63 kΩ
      1 (E2) - 2 (THW) 80°C (176°F) 0.305 to 0.331 kΩ

      Note

      If checking the engine coolant temperature sensor in water, be careful not to allow water into the terminals. After checking, wipe the water off on the engine coolant temperature sensor.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the engine coolant temperature sensor.
