DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling ECU assembly actuates the headlight leveling motors according to the vehicle conditions.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (LEVELING MOTOR)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, perform the Active Test Click here.

      HL Auto Leveling
      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Drive The Leveling Motor UP Leveling motor ON/OFF

      ON: Move up

      OFF: Stop
      Drive The Leveling Motor DOWN Leveling motor ON/OFF

      ON: Move up

      OFF: Stop

      Note

      Perform the Active Test with the engine running and vehicle stopped.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU)


    1. Disconnect the A43 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A12*1 or A11*2 headlight connector.


      • *1: for LH

      • *2: for RH

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      for LH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A43-11 (LH+) - A12-1 (LH T) Always Below 1 Ω
      A43-18 (LHT) - A12-2 (LHM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A43-24 (LH-) - A12-3 (LH E) Always Below 1 Ω
      for RH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A43-10 (RH+) - A11-1 (RH T) Always Below 1 Ω
      A43-17 (RHT) - A11-2 (RHM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A43-23 (RH-) - A11-3 (RH E) Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      for LH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A43-11 (LH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A43-18 (LHT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A43-24 (LH-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A43-10 (RH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A43-17 (RHT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A43-23 (RH-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. CHECK HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)


    1. Temporarily replace the headlight (leveling motor) with a new or normally functioning one Click here.

    2. Perform the Active Test of the leveling motors.

      OK
      Headlight leveling motors operate normally.
