DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) receives headlight dimmer switch assembly information signals, and operates the solenoid.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (HEAD LIGHT HI)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, perform the Active Test Click here.

  2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER RELAY (DIM)


    1. Remove the headlight dimmer relay (DIM) from the No. 2 engine room relay block.

    2. Inspect the DIM relay Click here.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT RELAY - HEADLIGHT DIMMER RELAY)


    1. Remove the headlight dimmer relay (DIM) from the No. 2 engine room relay block.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Relay terminal 2 - Body ground Headlights (low beam) on 11 to 14 V
      Relay terminal 3 - Body ground Headlights (low beam) on 11 to 14 V

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DIM RELAY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH AND RH)


    1. Remove the DIM relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block.

    2. Disconnect the A74 headlight assembly RH connector.

    3. Disconnect the A75 headlight assembly LH connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 5 - A74-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 5 - A75-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DIM RELAY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Remove the DIM relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block.

    2. Disconnect the 3C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
