REAR WIPER MOTOR INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

      Component without harness connected

      (Rear Wiper Motor Assembly)

      Check the operation (w/o Intermittent).


      1. Check to ensure that the rear wiper motor and bracket assembly operates when the battery voltage is applied between the terminals.

        Specified Condition
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 3 (+B)

        Battery negative (-) → 1 (-1)

        Battery negative (-) → 2 (E)

        		 Rear wiper motor operates.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the rear wiper motor assembly.

      Check the operation (w/ Intermittent).


      1. Check to ensure that the rear wiper motor and bracket assembly operates when the battery voltage is applied between the terminals.

        Specified Condition
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 4 (+B)

        Battery negative (-) → 3 (LS)

        Battery negative (-) → 5 (E)

        		 Rear wiper motor operates.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the rear wiper motor assembly.

    3. Check the intermittent operation (w/ Intermittent).


      1. Check to ensure that the rear wiper motor and bracket assembly operates when the battery voltage is applied between the terminals.

        Specified Condition
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 4 (+B)

        Battery negative (-) → 2 (C1)

        Battery negative (-) → 5 (E)

        		 Rear wiper motor operates intermittently.
        Standard
        Rear wiper motor operates intermittently for 9 to 15 seconds.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the rear wiper motor assembly.
