Tech Tips

Centering bolts are used to mount the hood hinge and the hood lock. The hood and the hood lock cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts in. Substitute standard bolts (with washers) for the centering bolts when making adjustments.

PROCEDURE


  1. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A005KTK

      Loosen the 4 hood side hinge bolts.

    2. Move the hood to adjust the clearance to within the standard range Click here.

    3. Tighten the 4 hood side hinge bolts after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }

      Adjust the height of the hood front end by turning the 2 center hood cushions Click here.

      Tech Tips

      The center hood cushion can be raised and lowered by turning it.

    5. Adjust the hood lock.


      1. A005JB1

        Loosen the 3 bolts.

      2. Adjust the hood lock position so that the striker can enter it smoothly Click here.

      3. Tighten the 3 bolts after the adjustment.

        Torque:
        7.5 N*m  { 77 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }

      Adjust the operating force to close the hood by turning the 2 center hood cushions as shown in the illustration Click here.

      Tech Tips

      The center hood cushion can be raised and lowered by turning it.
