FRONT WIPER MOTOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, install the windshield wiper motor assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.5 N*m  { 77 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }

      Apply MP grease to the crank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly.

      *b Crank Arm Pivot of the Windshield Wiper Motor Assembly

      Connect the windshield wiper link rod to the crank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly.

  2. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

    *1 Grommet

    1. Connect the connector.

    2. Engage the grommet as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the windshield wiper motor and link assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    4. Engage the 2 clamps.

  3. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 8 guides A.

    2. Engage the 5 claws and 3 guides B to install the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the 2 clips.

    4. Connect the washer hose.

  4. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH

    1. Rub off any double - sided tape remaining on the window moulding.

    2. Clean the attachment surface for the window molding.

    3. Apply primer N-200 to the attachment surface of a new front No. 2 fender to cowl side seal LH.

      Note


      • Allow the primer to dry for 10 minutes or more.

      • If 24 hours have elapsed since the primer was applied, reapply primer N-200.

    4. Engage the clip B and claw as shown in the illustration by the arrow to install the new front fender to cowl side seal LH.

    5. Engage the clip A.

    6. Apply thorough pressure to the sections with double - sided tape.

  5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedures for the LH side.

  6. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY


    1. Operate the wiper and atop the windshield wiper motor at the automatic stop position.

      Clean the wiper arm serrations.

    3. Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush.

    4. Install the front wiper sub arm.

      Note


      • When reusing the front wiper arm and blade assembly, apply MP grease to the pivot of the front wiper sub arm.

      • Confirm that the front wiper sub arm to the pivot engaging.

      *b 10 mm (0.394 in.)

      Install the front wiper arm and blade assembly with the nut to the position as shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      26 N*m  { 265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf }

      Tech Tips

      Hold the wiper arm by hand while tightening the nut.

    6. Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid onto the windshield. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and the wipers do not come into contact with the vehicle body.

  7. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP


    1. Engage the 3 claws to install the front wiper arm head cap.
