Ensure that fingers or articles of clothing do not get caught in moving parts when performing this test.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

      Component without harness connected

      (Windshield Wiper Motor Assembly)

      for LHD:


      1. Check to ensure that the windshield wiper motor assembly operates when the battery voltage is applied between the terminals.

        Specified Condition
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 5 (+1)

        Battery negative (-) → 4 (E)

        		 Windshield wiper motor assembly operates at low speed (LO).

        Battery positive (+) → 3 (+2)

        Battery positive (+) → 4 (E)

        		 Windshield wiper motor assembly operates at high speed (HI).

      for RHD:


      1. Check to ensure that the windshield wiper motor assembly operates when the battery voltage is applied between the terminals.

        Specified Condition
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 1 (+1)

        Battery negative (-) → 5 (E)

        		 Windshield wiper motor assembly operates at low speed (LO).

        Battery positive (+) → 4 (+2)

        Battery positive (+) → 5 (E)

        		 Windshield wiper motor assembly operates at high speed (HI).
