DESCRIPTION

The DTC is stored when the headlight leveling ECU assembly detects malfunctions in the rear height control sensor sub-assembly power source or rear height control sensor sub-assembly.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

If either of the following work has been performed, initialization of the headlight leveling ECU assembly is necessary Click here.


  • Replacement of the headlight leveling ECU assembly.

  • Replacement or removal/installation of the rear height control sensor sub-assembly or work that changes the vehicle height such as replacement of suspension components.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC B2416 is not output.

  2. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / HL Auto Leveling / Data List.

    5. Read the display on the intelligent tester.

  3. INSPECT REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the rear height control sensor sub-assembly Click here.

      Component without harness connected

      (Rear Height Control Sensor Sub-assembly)

      Connect 3 dry cell batteries (1.5 V) in series.

    3. Connect the positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 3 (SHB) and the negative (-) lead from the batteries to terminal 1 (SHG).

    4. Measure the voltage between terminals 2 (SHRR) and 1 (SHG) while slowly moving the link up and down.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY - HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR)


    1. Disconnect the A46 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the R2 rear height control sensor sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A46-19 (SHRL) - R2-2 (SHRR) Always Below 1 Ω
