LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL REMOVAL

  2. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

      Disengage the 4 claws, 2 guides and 4 clips, and remove the front door scuff plate LH.

  4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the clip as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the clip and claw, and remove the cowl side trim sub-assembly LH.

  5. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER

    Note

    Removing the lower steering column cover in the incorrect order will cause the parts to break.


    1. Release the tilt and telescopic lever, and fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.

    2. Lock the tilt and telescopic lever.

      Turn the steering wheel assembly to the left and remove the screw.

    4. A003ZG6

      Turn the steering wheel assembly to the right and remove the screw.

    5. A003WSD

      Push the right and left sides of the lower steering column cover to disengage the 4 claws.

    6. A003Z36

      Insert your fingers into the opening of the tilt lever of the lower steering column cover to disengage the 2 claws.

      Tech Tips

      Spread the claws to disengage them.

    7. A003VNX

      Disengage the 4 clips and 2 guides to separate the instrument panel cluster finish panel from the upper steering column cover.

    8. A003ZWE

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the upper steering column cover.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. A003Y9D

      Remove the 2 screws <E>.

    2. Disengage the clip.

    3. Disengage the clamp.

    4. Disconnect each connector and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

      Remove the screw <E>.

    2. Disengage the 2 clips.

    3. Disengage the clamp.

    4. Disconnect each connector and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Apply protective tape at the position shown in the illustration.

      Remove the 4 bolts.

    5. A003XLQ

      Disengage the 6 claws and 3 guides to separate the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

      Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector lock.

    7. Disconnect the airbag connector to remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  9. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL


    1. Open the glove compartment door.

      Using a moulding remover, disengage the 7 claws and 4 guides, and remove the lower center instrument panel finish panel as shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 7 claws and remove the air conditioning control assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

  11. REMOVE UPPER NO. 2 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH

      Disengage the 5 claws, clip and 2 guides, and remove the upper No. 2 console panel garnish.

  12. REMOVE UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH

      Disengage the 4 claws, clip and 3 guides, and remove the upper No. 1 console panel garnish.

  13. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Open the console compartment door.

    2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 9 claws of the vehicle rear side.

    3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 3 claws of the vehicle front side as shown in the illustration.

    4. Disengage the clamp.

    5. Disconnect each connector and remove the upper console panel sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX POCKET

      Remove the rear console box pocket.

  15. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET

      Remove the console box carpet.

  16. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 screws and 4 bolts.

      Disengage the 8 guides and remove the rear console box assembly.

  17. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.

  18. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the 6 claws and 2 guides.

    2. Disengage the clamp.

    3. Disconnect each connector and remove the integration control and panel assembly.

  19. REMOVE RADIO TUNER OPENING COVER WITH BRACKET (w/o Audio)

      Remove the 4 bolts <A>.

    2. Disconnect each connector and remove the radio tuner opening cover with bracket.

  20. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Audio)

      Remove the 4 bolts.

    2. Pull the radio receiver assembly with bracket toward the rear of the vehicle.

    3. Disconnect each connector and remove the radio receiver assembly with bracket.

  21. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX INSERT

      Disengage the 2 clips and 2 claws, and remove the console box insert.

  22. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX LH


    1. A003WSO

      Remove the bolt <A>.

    2. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    3. Using a clip remover, disengage the 3 clips.

    4. Disengage the 2 claws and guide, and remove the console box LH.

  23. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT

      Disengage the 5 claws and remove the front No. 2 console box insert.

  24. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX RH

      Remove the bolt <A>.

    2. Using a clip remover, remove the clip.

    3. Using a clip remover, disengage the 3 clips.

    4. Disengage the 2 claws and guide, and remove the console box RH.

  25. REMOVE TRANSMISSION INSTRUMENT PANEL SHIFT ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 nuts and separate the transmission instrument panel shift assembly.

    2. A003ZVQ

      Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the transmission instrument panel shift assembly.

  26. REMOVE NO. 3 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts <A>.

    3. Disengage the 3 guides and remove the No. 3 console box mounting bracket.

  27. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET

      Disengage each clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts <A>.

    3. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the No. 1 console box mounting bracket.

  28. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)

      Remove the 2 bolts <A>.

    2. A003X0Z

      Disengage the 2 clips as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disengage the clamp.

    4. Disconnect each connector and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel assembly.

  29. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A003VHK

      Disengage the claw and 2 guides, and disconnect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  30. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System)


    1. Disengage each clamp.

    2. for LHD:


      1. Disengage the claw and disconnect the protector.

    3. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3 connector.

    4. Remove the 4 bolts <A>, 10 screws <B> or <C> and screw <D>.

    5. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the lower instrument panel sub-assembly.

  31. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)


    1. Disengage each clamp.

    2. for LHD:


      1. Disengage the claw and disconnect the protector.

    3. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the DLC3 connector.
