B1587 Lost Communication for Immobiliser Communication Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When one of the following occurs: 1) the telephone transceiver assembly detects errors in its own communications with the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU); 2) the telephone transceiver assembly detects errors in the communication lines; 3) the ECU communication ID between the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) and telephone transceiver assembly is different and an hybrid control system start is attempted, the telephone transceiver assembly stores DTC B1587.

  • Error in communication between telephone transceiver assembly and ID code box (immobiliser code ECU)

  • Error in communication lines

  • Communication ID is different during communication with ID code box (immobiliser code ECU)

  • Telephone transceiver assembly

  • ID code box (immobiliser code ECU)

  • Wire harness or connector

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • Before troubleshooting for these DTCs, make sure no engine immobiliser system DTCs are present. If present, troubleshoot the engine immobiliser system DTCs first.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • When replacing the telephone transceiver assembly or ID code box (immobiliser code ECU), refer to the Service Bulletin.

  • When the telephone transceiver assembly is replaced, it is necessary to set the contract mode.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Turn the power switch off.

    3. Start the hybrid control system.

    4. Check for DTCs.

      OK
      DTC B1587 is not output.

    REREGISTER ECU COMMUNICATION ID Click here

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK Click here

  2. REREGISTER ECU COMMUNICATION ID


    1. Reregister the ECU communication ID.

      Tech Tips

      Refer to the Service Bulletin.

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Turn the power switch off.

    3. Start the hybrid control system.

    4. Check for DTCs.

      OK

  4. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTOR


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the telephone transceiver assembly and ID code box (immobiliser code ECU).

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEPHONE TRANSCEIVER ASSEMBLY - ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILISER CODE ECU))


    1. Disconnect the H22 ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the H149 telephone transceiver assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      H149-1 (BLK1) - H22-5 (EFII) Always Below 1 Ω
      H149-1 (BLK1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H22-5 (EFII) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H149-2 (BLK4) - H22-6 (EFIO) Always Below 1 Ω
      H149-2 (BLK4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H22-6 (EFIO) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  6. REPLACE ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILISER CODE ECU)


    1. Temporarily replace the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) with a new one.
