DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when a malfunction occurs in a connected device.

When one of the conditions below is met:


  • Non mass-storage class or incompatible protocol USB device

  • USB device with an incompatible file system, or a corrupted or incompatible File Allocation Table (FAT)

  • "iPod" malfunction

  • "iPod" with unsupported firmware

  • Unsupported "iPod" model


  • Multi-media interface ECU assembly

  • USB device or "iPod"

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Tip:

After the inspection is completed, clear the DTCs.

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    REPLACE USB DEVICE OR "iPod"


    1. Disconnect the USB device or "iPod" from the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

    2. Turn the power switch off.

      Tip:

      When this DTC has been stored, it is necessary to turn off the power switch to make it possible for the vehicle to recognize a new device when it is connected.

    3. Turn the power switch on (ACC).

    4. Connect a known good USB device or "iPod" to the No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly.

      Tip:
      • If the malfunction occurred when a USB device was in use, use another USB device for the inspection. If the malfunction occurred when an "iPod" was in use, use another "iPod" for the inspection.

      • Refer to System Description for compatible formats and versions (Click here).


  2. Click here

    CLEAR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs (Click here).


  3. Click here

    CHECK DTC


    1. Recheck for DTCs.

      Tip:

      If DTCs are detected frequently, replace the multi-media interface ECU assembly.

      OK
      No DTCs are output.

  4. Click here

    USB DEVICE FORMAT WAS INCOMPATIBLE, "iPod" VERSION WAS INCOMPATIBLE, OR USB DEVICE OR "iPod" WAS DEFECTIVE
