REAR UPPER ARM REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM COVER


    1. A003W3L

      Remove the 2 bolts and disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear suspension arm cover from the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly.

  3. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SIDE MEMBER COVER (w/ Floor Under Cover)


    1. for LH Side:


      1. A003WZU

        Remove the 2 bolts, nut and clip.

      2. Disengage the clip and remove the rear floor side member cover LH.

    2. for RH Side:


      1. A003Y2E

        Remove the bolt and nut.

      2. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the rear floor side member cover RH.

  4. REMOVE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY

      *1 Wooden Block
      *2 Jack

      Use a jack and wooden block to keep the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly level.

      CAUTION:

      Do not jack up the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly too high as the vehicle may fall.

      Note


      • When jacking up the rear No. 2 suspension arm assembly, be sure to jack it up slowly.

      • Make sure to perform this operation with the vehicle kept as low as possible.

      *1 No. 2 Flexible Hose Bracket
      A003ZV9 Bolt (A)
      A003YYF Bolt (B)

      Remove the bolt (B), nut and No. 2 flexible hose bracket, and then separate the rear upper control arm assembly from the rear axle assembly.

      Note

      Since a stopper nut is used, turn the bolt.

    3. Remove the bolt (A), nut and rear upper control arm assembly from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

      Note

      Since a stopper nut is used, turn the bolt.
