DESCRIPTION

When the driving support ECU assembly receives a hybrid control system or SFI system malfunction signal from the power management control ECU or ECM via the CAN communication line, DTC C1A40 is stored.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. READ OUTPUT DTC (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / DTC.

    5. Read the DTCs.

  2. READ OUTPUT DTC (SFI SYSTEM)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

    5. Read the DTCs.

      DTC is output (for 2ZR-FXE (w/ EGR System)) B
      DTC is output (for 2ZR-FXE (w/o EGR System)) C
      DTC is output (for 5ZR-FXE) D

  3. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC C1A40)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    4. Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

      If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.


      1. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) and 170 km/h (105 mph).

      2. Turn the cruise control switch (ON-OFF button) on.

      3. Push the -/SET switch to activate the cruise control.

    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / DTC.

    6. Read the DTCs.

  4. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU


    1. Replace the power management control ECU Click here.

  5. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (DTC C1A40)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Clear the DTCs Click here.
