LIGHTING SYSTEM Indicator Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The headlight beam level control system indicator light in the combination meter assembly comes on for approximately 3 seconds when the power switch is turned on (IG). The indicator light also comes on when the headlight leveling ECU assembly detects a malfunction.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY (INPUT SIGNAL)

      (to Headlight leveling ECU assembly)

      Disconnect the A46 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A46-6 (WNG) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      Power switch off Below 1 V

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the H19 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A46-6 (WNG) - H19-3 (LVWG) Always Below 1 Ω
      A46-6 (WNG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
