LIGHTING SYSTEM Front Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the front fog light relay.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK OPERATION (TAILLIGHTS)


    1. Check the operation of the taillights.

      OK
      Taillights operate normally.

    NG
    OK
  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Check that the relay operates.

      Front fog light relay operates. (Front fog lights come on.)

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FOG LIGHT - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the 2C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the C1 or C2 fog light assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C1-2 - 2C-8 Always Below 1 Ω
      C2-2 - 2C-8 Always Below 1 Ω
      2C-8 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C1-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      C2-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

      Component without harness connected

      (Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)

      Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    2. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 2E-1 (for LHD).

    3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminal 2F-1 (for RHD).

    4. Connect a negative (-) lead from the auxiliary battery to terminals A-14 (TRLY) and A-13 (FFGO).

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
