INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (ACTIVATE THE WATER PUMP)

    Note

    Be sure to perform the inspection with the auxiliary battery voltage at 11 V or more.

    Tech Tips

    When the auxiliary battery voltage is low, the inverter water pump assembly may not operate.


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Active Test / Activate the Water Pump.

    4. Perform the Activate the Water Pump Active Test.

    5. Touch the inverter water pump assembly and check that it is operating (vibrating).

      OK
      The inverter water pump assembly is operating (vibrating).
    6. Turn the power switch off.

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR)


    1. Check the connections of the power management control ECU connectors.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - INVERTER WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect connector A19 from the power management control ECU.

    2. Disconnect connector e1 from the inverter water pump assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  5. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU


    1. Disconnect connector e1 from the inverter water pump assembly.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    4. Turn the power switch off.

    5. Connect the inverter water pump assembly connector.

      Connect an oscilloscope between the power management control ECU terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.

  7. CHECK FUSE (IGCT NO. 3)

      Remove the IGCT NO. 3 fuse from the engine room junction block assembly.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    3. Install the IGCT NO. 3 fuse.

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INVERTER WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY CIRCUIT)


    1. Remove the IGCT NO. 3 fuse from the engine room junction block assembly.

    2. Remove the IGCT relay from the engine room junction block assembly.

    3. Disconnect connector A19 from the power management control ECU.

    4. Disconnect connector e1 from the inverter water pump assembly.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    7. Install the IGCT relay.

    8. Connect the power management control ECU connector.

    9. Connect the inverter water pump assembly connector.
