AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM (for Radio Receiver Type) Microphone Circuit between Microphone and Radio Receiver

DESCRIPTION

This circuit sends the voice signal from the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) to the radio receiver assembly.

It also supplies power from the radio receiver assembly to the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E98-3 (MACC) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 4 to 6 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E98-6 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the map light assembly and radio receiver assembly connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O8-12 (MACC) - E98-3 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      O8-11 (MIC+) - E98-2 (MIN+) Always Below 1 Ω
      O8-10 (MIC-) - E98-5 (MIN-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E98-1 (SNS2) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      E98-3 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E98-2 (MIN+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E98-5 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E98-6 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. Reconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.

      Reconnect the map light assembly connector.

    3. Turn the power switch on (ACC).

    4. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 11 (MlC+) and 10 (MIC-) of the O8 map light assembly connector.

    5. Check the waveform of the microphone using the oscilloscope.

  4. REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY
