DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the operation of the TAIL relay.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Check that the relay operates.

  2. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

      Component without harness connected

      (Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly)

      *2 for LHD
      *3 for RHD

      Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    2. Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2E-1 or 2F-1.

    3. Connect a negative (-) lead from the battery to terminal A-14.

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2C-10 - Battery negative Always 11 to 14 V
      2D-18 - Battery negative Always 11 to 14 V

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 2E or 2F instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2E-1 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      2F-1 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SIDE LIGHTS - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 2C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the A70 and A73 headlight assembly connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2C-10 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR SIDE LIGHTS - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 2D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the M18 and L36 rear combination light assembly connectors.

    3. Disconnect the R11 and R10 licence plate light assembly connectors.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      2D-18 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
