LIGHTING SYSTEM Rear Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the rear fog light relay.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Check that the relay operates.

      Rear fog light relay operates. (Rear fog light comes on.)

  2. INSPECT REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY


    1. A003U7SE87

      Remove the rear fog light relay from the No. 5 relay block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 5 Voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 5 Voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 Ω

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - REAR FOG LIGHT RELAY)


    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Rear fog light relay terminal 2 - Body ground Light control switch off → tail Below 1 V → 11 to 14 V
      Rear fog light relay terminal 5 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT - REAR FOG RELAY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. for LHD


      1. Disconnect the L36 rear combination light assembly connector.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        Rear fog light relay Terminal 3 - L36-7 Always Below 1 Ω
        Rear fog light relay Terminal 3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        L36-5 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    2. for RHD


      1. Disconnect the L36(*1) or M18(*2) rear combination light assembly connectors.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the 2B instrument panel junction block assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Rear fog light relay terminal 1 - 2B-26 Always Below 1 Ω
      2B-26 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY
