CAUTION:

Before adjusting the door positions of vehicles equipped with side airbags and curtain shield airbags, be sure to disconnect the battery. After adjustment, inspect the SRS warning light, the side airbag system, and the curtain shield airbag system for normal operation. Then initialize both airbag systems.

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

  • Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts installed on it. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts when making adjustments.

  1. REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT

      Remove the rear floor mat.

  2. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX


    1. A003TAA

      Remove the rear deck floor box.

  3. REMOVE BATTERY BOX COVER


    1. A003UZD

      Disengage the 3 guides and remove the battery box cover.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  5. ADJUST FRONT DOOR

      Using SST, loosen the hinge bolts on the vehicle body and adjust the door position.

    2. Tighten the hinge bolts on the vehicle body after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      26 N*m  { 265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf }
    3. Loosen the hinge bolts on the door and adjust the door position.

    4. Tighten the hinge bolts on the door after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      26 N*m  { 265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf }
    5. A003SWA

      Adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws with a T40 "TORX" socket wrench and hitting the striker with a plastic hammer.

    6. Using a T40 "TORX" socket wrench, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

      Torque:
      23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }
  6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  7. INSTALL BATTERY BOX COVER


    1. Engage the 3 guides to install the battery box cover.

  8. INSTALL REAR DECK FLOOR BOX


    1. Install the rear deck floor box.

  9. INSTALL REAR FLOOR MAT


    1. Install the rear floor mat.

  10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
