FRONT DOOR DISASSEMBLY


  1. REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT


    1. A003TLX

      Remove the rear floor mat.

  2. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX

      Remove the rear deck floor box.

  3. REMOVE BATTERY BOX COVER


    1. A003UZD

      Disengage the 3 guides and remove the battery box cover.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 3 claws, and remove the front door inside handle bezel.

  6. REMOVE DOOR ASSIST GRIP COVER

      Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 4 claws and remove the door assist grip cover.

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 screws.

    2. A003SYF

      Using a clip remover, disengage the 9 clips.

    3. Disengage the 4 claws and separate the front door trim board sub-assembly from the front door inner glass weatherstrip.

    4. A003SJL

      Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the front door inside handle sub-assembly.

    5. Disconnect each connector.

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A003T68

      Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable and front door inside locking cable, and remove the front door inside handle sub-assembly.

  9. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE PANEL UPPER


    1. A003UQ1

      Disengage the 7 claws and remove the front armrest base panel upper.

  10. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)


    1. A003SFU

      Remove the 3 screws and power window regulator master switch assembly.

  11. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side)


    1. A003T8U

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the power window regulator switch assembly.

  12. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. A003UBT

      Disengage the 3 claws and remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INNER GLASS WEATHERSTRIP


    1. A003U7T

      Remove the front door inner glass weatherstrip from the front door panel.

  14. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    1. A003T25

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Using a drill bit with a diameter of less than 4 mm (0.16 in.), drill out the 3 rivet heads and remove the front No. 1 speaker assembly.

      Note


      • Do not touch the cone part of the speaker.

      • Do not drill the rivet at an angle as this will cause damage to the drill and drill hole. Line up the drill and rivet, and carefully drill out the rivet head.

      • Be careful as the cut rivet will be very hot.

    3. Continue drilling and push out the remaining rivet fragments.

    4. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the inside of the door.

  15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the front door service hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Remove the remaining butyl tape on the door.

  16. REMOVE OUTER MIRROR INSTALL HOLE COVER


    1. A003UJL

      Disengage the 3 claws and the guide, and remove the outer mirror install hole cover.

  17. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY WITH COVER


    1. A003SBH

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts.

    3. Disengage the claw and remove the outer rear view mirror assembly with cover.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the negative battery terminal.

    2. Connect the power window regulator master switch assembly and move the front door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.

    3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and power window regulator master switch assembly.

    4. A003TNQ

      Remove the 2 bolts.

      Note

      After the bolts are removed, the door glass may fall, causing damage.

    5. A003UMBE01

      Remove the front door glass sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not damage the door glass.

  19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY

      *1 Temporary Bolt

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Loosen the temporary bolt.

      Note

      Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator may fall, causing damage.

    3. Remove the 5 bolts and front door window regulator assembly.

    4. Remove the temporary bolt from the front door window regulator assembly.

  20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR NO. 2 STIFFENER CUSHION

      Remove the bolt.

    2. Disengage the guide and remove the front door No. 2 stiffener cushion.

  21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN


    1. A003TCB

      Remove the front door glass run.

  22. REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH


    1. A003RTA

      Disengage the clip and remove the door frame garnish.

      Tech Tips

      This clip needs to be replaced with a new one because the clip will break when removing the door frame garnish.

  23. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt and front door rear lower frame sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

  24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER (for Driver Side)


    1. A003UAQ

      Remove the hole plug.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover and the door lock key cylinder as a unit.

      Tech Tips

      The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

    3. A003SVA

      Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door outside handle cover.

  25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER (for Front Passenger Side)


    1. A003TWH

      Remove the hole plug.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover and the door lock key cylinder as a unit.

      Tech Tips

      The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

  26. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/o Entry Function)

      Remove the front door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.

  27. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (w/ Entry Function)

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. A003SNU

      Remove the front door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.

  28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door front outside handle pad.

  29. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door rear outside handle pad.

  30. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 screws.

    2. Slide the front door lock assembly downward, and remove the front door lock assembly and cables as a unit.

    3. Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the front door lock assembly.

  31. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the front door lock remote control cable assembly.

  32. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. A003S20

      Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. A003RQB

      Remove the front door inside locking cable assembly.

  33. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Entry Function)

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the screw.

    2. Using pliers, disengage the grommet as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disengage the claw and remove the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

  34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Entry Function)

      Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the screw.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. Disengage the claw (B).

    4. Using pliers, disengage the grommet as shown in the illustration.

    5. Disengage the claw (A) and remove the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

  35. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK OPEN ROD

      Remove the front door lock open rod as shown in the illustration.

  36. REMOVE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (w/ Entry Function)

      Remove the screw and the door electrical key oscillator.

  37. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt, 2 nuts, and front door check assembly.

  38. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP


    1. A003RSX

      Using a clip remover, disengage the 16 clips and remove the front door weatherstrip.

  39. REMOVE FRONT DOOR PANEL CUSHION


    1. A003RKR

      Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 front door panel cushions.

      Tech Tips

      This front door panel cushion needs to be replaced with a new one because the claw will break when removing the front door panel cushion.

  40. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY

      *1 Protective Tape

      Put protective tape around the front door belt moulding assembly.

    2. Using a screwdriver with the tip taped, disengage the 5 claws from the inside of the door.

    3. Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip and remove the front door belt moulding assembly.

  41. REMOVE NO. 1 BLACK OUT TAPE


    1. Using a heat light, heat the front door tape.

      Heating temperature
      Item Temperature
      Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

      Note

      Do not heat the vehicle body excessively.

    2. A003UGA

      Pull back an edge of the black out tape and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to pull it off.

  42. REMOVE NO. 2 BLACK OUT TAPE


    1. Using a heat light, heat the front door tape.

      Heating temperature
      Item Temperature
      Vehicle Body 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

      Note

      Do not heat the vehicle body excessively.

    2. A003SMT

      Pull back an edge of the black out tape and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to pull it off.
