SLIDING ROOF HOUSING INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF WEATHERSTRIP


    1. Install the sliding roof weatherstrip as follows:


      1. Position the joint of the weatherstrip at the rear center.

      2. Align the marks on the weatherstrip with the middle marks at the corners of the sliding roof panel and install the weatherstrip.

      3. Install the lip of the weatherstrip firmly.

  2. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the sliding roof housing sub-assembly with the 4 bolts and 7 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    2. Engage the claw.

    3. Install the room light bracket with the nut.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }
    4. Connect the 4 sliding roof drain hoses so that each mark faces downward.

      Note

      Be sure to install the drain hoses properly to prevent entry of water.

  3. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Using a "TORX" driver (T25), temporarily install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 screws.

    2. A003RIKE01

      Perform a level check.


      1. Check the difference in level for "a" between the roof panel and the upper surface of the weatherstrip when the sliding roof glass is fully closed.

        0 + 1.0 mm (0 + 0.039 in.)

        0 - 2.0 mm (0 - 0.079 in.)

        B - B

        0 + 2.0 mm (0 + 0.079 in.)

        0 - 1.0 mm (0 - 0.039 in.)

        C - C

        0 + 1.5 mm (0 + 0.059 in.)

        0 - 1.5 mm (0 - 0.059 in.)

        D - D

        0 + 1.5 mm (0 + 0.059 in.)

        0 - 1.0 mm (0 - 0.039 in.)

        Tech Tips

        "+" represents the condition that the glass is above the panel level. "-" represents the condition that the glass is below the panel level.

      Perform a gap check.


      1. Check the gap between the roof panel and roof glass.

        Note

        The gap must be even all around.

    4. After adjusting the sliding roof glass, using a "TORX" socket wrench (T25), install the sliding roof glass sub-assembly with the 4 screws.

      Torque:
      4.0 N*m  { 41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf }
  4. INSPECT FOR WATER LEAK


    1. After adjusting the sliding roof glass sub-assembly, inspect for water leaks.

    2. If there are any leaks, readjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.

  5. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH


    1. Engage the 5 claws and install the sliding roof side garnish LH.

  6. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  7. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Install a new curtain shield airbag assembly with the 5 bolts.

      Torque:
      9.8 N*m  { 100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf }

      Note


      • If the curtain shield airbag assembly is removed, replace it with a new one.

      • Do not twist the curtain shield airbag assembly when installing it.

    4. Install the curtain shield airbag assembly to the body panel with 4 new clips and 4 new spacers.

        Install 4 new pins as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Make sure that the pins of the clips are pushed in firmly.

    5. Connect the curtain shield airbag connector.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    6. Push in the lock to install the airbag connector.

  8. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
