WINDSHIELD GLASS INSTALLATION


  1. INSTALL NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER


    1. Using a brush or sponge, coat the application area of the No. 2 windshield glass stoppers with Primer G.

      Note


      • Do not apply too much primer.

      • Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more.

      • Throw away any leftover Primer G.

      Tech Tips

      If an area other than that specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer with a clean piece of cloth before it dries.

    2. Install 2 new No. 2 windshield glass stoppers onto the windshield glass, as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER (for 2-piece Type)

      Install 2 new No. 1 windshield glass stoppers to the vehicle body, as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Only 2-piece type No. 1 windshield glass stoppers are supplied. Use the 2-piece type stoppers even if a 1-piece type was used.

  3. INSTALL WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING


    1. Using a brush or sponge, coat the application area of the windshield outside moulding with Primer G.

      Note

    2. Install a new windshield outside moulding onto the windshield glass, as shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS ADHESIVE DAM


    1. Using a brush or sponge, coat the application area of No. 2 windshield glass adhesive dam with Primer G.

      Note


      • Do not apply too much primer.

      • Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more.

      • Throw away any leftover Primer G.

      Tech Tips

      If the primer is applied to an area that specified is coated by accident, apply a non-residue solvent to a clean cloth and wipe off the excess primer.

    2. Install a new adhesive dam onto the windshield glass, as shown in the illustration.

  5. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS

      Position the windshield glass assembly.


      1. Using a suction cup, place the windshield glass in the correct position.

      2. Check that the whole contact surface of the windshield glass rim is perfectly even.

      3. Place matchmarks on the windshield glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.

        Tech Tips


        • Placing matchmarks is necessary only when installing a new glass. If it is the reused glass, matchmarks should already be present.

        • When reusing the glass, check and correct the matchmark positions.

        Note

        Check that the windshield glass stoppers are attached to the vehicle body correctly.

      4. Using suction cups, remove the windshield glass assembly.

      2. Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle, as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time described in the table below.

      3. Load the sealer gun with cartridge.

      4. Apply adhesive to the windshield glass, as shown in the illustration.

      Install the windshield glass assembly.


      1. Using a suction cup, position the windshield glass so that the matchmarks are aligned, and press it in gently along the rim.

      2. Lightly press the outer surface of the windshield glass to ensure that it is securely attached to the vehicle body.

        Note


        • Check that the windshield glass stoppers are attached to the vehicle body correctly.

        • Check the clearance between the vehicle body and windshield glass.

        Tech Tips

        Press the glass with force of 98 N (10 kgf, 22 lbf) or more.

        If necessary, use a scraper to correct the level or position of adhesive that has been applied.

        Note

        Apply adhesive onto the windshield glass rim.

        Tech Tips

        Press the glass with force of 98 N (10 kgf, 22 lbf) or more.

      4. Hold the windshield glass using protective tape until applied adhesive becomes hard.

        Note

        Do not drive the vehicle for the time described in the table below.

  6. INSPECT FOR LEAK AND REPAIR


    1. After the adhesive has hardened, apply water from the outside of the vehicle. Check that no water leaks into the cabin.

    2. If water leaks into the cabin, allow the water to dry and add adhesive.

    3. Remove the protective tape.

  7. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

    Return the front section of the roof headlining assembly to the original position.

  8. INSTALL SUN ROOF OPENING TRIM MOULDING (w/ Sliding Roof)

      Align the recess of the sun roof opening trim moulding with the notch of the roof headlining and install the sun roof opening trim moulding.

      Note

      After installation, check that the corners fit correctly.

  9. INSTALL VISOR HOLDER

      Engage the 2 claws.

    2. Push in the visor holder as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.

  10. INSTALL NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

      Engage the guide and claw, and install the room light cover.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and the LH side.

      Engage the 4 claws and install the lens cover.

    3. A003RX6

      Engage the 4 claws and install the room light switch base to the No. 1 room light assembly.

    4. A003SLT

      Engage the 4 claws and install the No. 1 room light assembly.

  11. INSTALL ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A003TUF

      Assemble the assist grip sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    2. A003RSO

      Install the assist grip sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the other 3 assist grips.

  12. INSTALL VISOR ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the 2 clips to the visor assembly LH.

    2. A003SYI

      Engage the 2 clips and install the visor assembly LH.

    3. A003UQT

      Engage the 4 claws and install the visor bracket cover.

  13. INSTALL VISOR ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  14. INSTALL MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. A003SIV

      Connect the connector.

    2. Engage the 4 claws and 4 clips, and install the map light assembly.

  15. INSTALL INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/o EC Mirror)

      Slide the inner rear view mirror assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to install it.

  16. INSTALL INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/ EC Mirror)

      Slide the inner rear view mirror assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to install it.

    2. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T20), install the inner rear view mirror with the screw.

      Torque:
      1.8 N*m  { 18 kgf*cm, 16 in.*lbf }

      Connect the connector.

  17. INSTALL INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR STAY HOLDER COVER (w/ EC Mirror)


    1. Engage the 6 claws and temporarily install the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover.

      Slide the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover and engage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration to install the cover.

  18. INSTALL RAIN SENSOR TAPE (w/ Rain Sensor)

    Tech Tips

    Perform this step if replacing rain sensor tape.

      Remove the releasing sheet (yellow side) from a new rain sensor tape and attach the tape to the position indicated in the illustration (the sensor part of the rain sensor) while pushing out air bubbles with your fingers.

    2. Remove the releasing sheet (white side) from the rain sensor tape.

      Note


      • The rain sensor tape can be reused. However, replace it with a new one if it is dirty or damaged.

      • Check that the old rain sensor tape is not left on the windshield glass. If the tape is still on the windshield glass, remove it before installing the rain sensor.

      • Do not touch the sensor tape surface or the glass surface directly with your fingers.

      • Clean up dirt on the glass with a piece of cloth, etc.

  19. INSTALL RAIN SENSOR (w/ Rain Sensor)


    1. Connect the connector.

      Gradually attach the rain sensor to the glass surface to prevent air bubbles from forming between them.

    3. Push in the stopper.

      Note


      • Do not touch the sensor tape surface or the glass surface directly with your fingers.

      • Clean up dirt on the glass with a piece of cloth, etc.

      • After installing the rain sensor, there should be no air bubbles between the windshield glass and the rain sensor tape.

  20. INSTALL RAIN SENSOR COVER (w/ Rain Sensor)

      Engage the 2 claws and install the rain sensor cover.

  21. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH


    1. Remove the protective cover.

      Note


      • If there is any damage, replace the garnish clip with a new one.

      • When a garnish clip is being replaced, make sure to install it in the direction shown in the illustration.

    3. Engage the guide.

    4. Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nosed pliers and install it to the front pillar garnish LH.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the tips of the needle-nosed pliers before use.

    1. Engage the 7 clips and install the hood to cowl top seal.

    1. Operate the wiper and stop the windshield wiper motor at the automatic stop position.

    5. Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid on the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and the wipers do not come into contact with the vehicle body.

  30. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP


    1. Install the 2 front wiper arm head caps.

  31. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  32. INSTALL BATTERY BOX COVER


    1. Engage the 3 guides to install the battery box cover.

  33. INSTALL REAR DECK FLOOR BOX


    1. Install the rear deck floor box.

  34. INSTALL REAR FLOOR MAT


    1. Install the rear floor mat.

  35. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
