REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT
Remove the rear floor mat.
REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX
Remove the rear deck floor box.
REMOVE BATTERY BOX COVER
Disengage the 3 guides and remove the battery box cover.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.
REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP
Remove the 2 windshield wiper arm head caps.
REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
Remove the nut and the front wiper arm and blade assembly LH.
REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
Remove the nut and the front wiper arm and blade assembly RH.
REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL
Disengage the 7 clips and remove the hood to cowl top seal.
REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
Disengage the clip and 11 claws, and remove the cowl top ventilator louver RH.
REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH
Disengage the clip and 6 claws, and remove the cowl top ventilator louver LH.
REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH CORNER PIECE LH

Apply protective tape to the areas shown in the illustration.
Using a screwdriver, disengage the 5 claws and 2 guides (A).
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Disengage the 2 guides (B) and remove the front pillar garnish corner piece LH.
REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

Pull the upper part of the garnish toward the inside of the cabin and disengage the garnish from the base of the 2 clips.
Tech Tips
Make the front pillar garnish LH hang down from the front pillar garnish clip.

Turn the end of the front pillar garnish clip 90° with needle-nosed pliers and remove it from the front pillar garnish LH.
Note
Front pillar garnish clips are reusable if they are not removed from the vehicle and have no damage.
Replace the front pillar garnish clips with new ones if they are removed from the vehicle.
Tech Tips
Tape the tips of the needle-nosed pliers before use.
Disengage the guide at the front end of the front pillar garnish LH and remove it.

Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

Cover the airbag with a 700 mm (27.56 in.) x 120 mm (4.72 in.) cloth or piece of nylon and fix the ends of the cover with tape as shown in the illustration.
Note
Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

REMOVE RAIN SENSOR COVER (w/ Rain Sensor)
Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rain sensor cover.
REMOVE RAIN SENSOR (w/ Rain Sensor)

Release the stopper by pulling the stopper down and disconnect the rain sensor as shown in the illustration.
Disconnect the connector and remove the rain sensor.

Perform this step if replacing rain sensor tape.
Remove the rain sensor tape.
Note
The rain sensor tape can be reused. However, replace it with a new one if it is dirty or damaged.
REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/o EC Mirror)
Slide the inner rear view mirror assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to remove it.
REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR STAY HOLDER COVER (w/ EC Mirror)
w/o Rear View Monitor System:
Disengage the 2 claws and slide the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover as shown in the illustration.
Disengage the 6 claws and remove the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover.
w/ Rear View Monitor System:
Disengage the 2 guides, and remove the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover.
REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/ EC Mirror)
w/o Rear View Monitor System:
Disconnect the connector.
Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T20), remove the screw and the inner rear view mirror.
Slide the inner rear view mirror assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to remove it.
w/ Rear View Monitor System:
Disconnect the connector.
Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T20), remove the screw and the inner rear view mirror.
Slide the inner rear view mirror assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration to remove it.
REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and 4 clips.
Disconnect the connector and remove the map light assembly.
REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH
Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.
Disengage the 2 clips and remove the visor assembly LH.
Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.
REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH

Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY

Using a clip remover, disengage the 4 claws.
Note
Do not forcibly pry the assist grip covers to prevent them from being deformed.

Gently pry on the assist grip covers as shown in the illustration to loosen them.
Tape the clip remover tip before use.
Pull off the 2 assist grip covers by hand.
Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip sub-assembly.
Remove the 2 clips from the vehicle body.

Use the same procedure for the other 3 assist grips.
REMOVE NO. 1 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY

REMOVE VISOR HOLDER

REMOVE SUN ROOF OPENING TRIM MOULDING (w/ Sliding Roof)
REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
It is not necessary to completely remove the roof headlining assembly. Slightly lower the front section of the roof headlining assembly so that the windshield glass can be removed.

Using a knife, cut off the windshield outside moulding, as shown in the illustration.
Remove the remaining windshield outside moulding from the windshield glass.
Tech Tips
Make a partial cut in the windshield outside moulding, then pull and remove it by hand.

Apply protective tape to the installation position of the windshield glass sub-assembly on the vehicle body.
Note
Apply protective tape to the installation surface to prevent it from being scratched.
Pass a piano wire between the vehicle body and windshield glass sub-assembly from the interior.
Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.

Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the windshield glass sub-assembly.
Note
When separating the windshield glass subassembly from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle's paint or interior/exterior ornaments.
To prevent the instrument panel from being scratched when removing the windshield glass sub-assembly, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and instrument panel.

Place matchmarks on the windshield glass subassembly and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Matchmarks do not need if the windshield glass sub-assembly is not going to be reused.
Disconnect the windshield glass stoppers.

Note
There are the No. 1 and No. 2 stoppers on the windshield glass sub-assembly as shown in the illustration. Be careful not to damage the windshield glass when cutting off the adhesive.
To prevent the windshield glass subassembly from dropping when performing this operation, be sure to hold the windshield glass sub-assembly using suction cups.
Tech Tips
Depending on vehicles, a 1-piece or 2-piece type stopper is used.
Using suction cups, remove the windshield glass sub-assembly.
Note
Be careful not to drop the windshield glass sub-assembly.
Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the windshield glass sub-assembly.
REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING
Using a scraper, remove the windshield outside moulding.
Note
Be careful not to damage the windshield glass.
Be sure to replace the outside moulding with a new one.
REMOVE NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS ADHESIVE DAM
Using a scraper, remove the No. 2 windshield glass adhesive dam.
Note
Be careful not to damage the windshield glass.
Be sure to replace the adhesive dam No. 2 windshield glass adhesive dam with a new one.
REMOVE NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER
Using a scraper, remove the 2 No. 2 windshield glass stoppers.
Note
Be careful not to damage the windshield glass.
Be sure to replace the No. 2 windshield glass stoppers with new ones.
REMOVE NO. 1 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER (for 2-piece Type)
Remove the No. 1 windshield glass stoppers as shown in the illustration.
Note
Be sure to replace the No. 1 windshield glass stoppers with new ones.
CLEAN WINDSHIELD GLASS
Using a scraper, remove the adhesive tape and adhesive sticking to the windshield glass.
Note
Be careful not to damage the windshield glass.
Clean the outer circumference of the windshield glass with a non-residue solvent.
Note
Do not touch the windshield glass surface after cleaning it.
Even if using a new windshield glass, clean the windshield glass with a non-residue solvent.
CLEAN VEHICLE BODY

Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.
Using a knife, cut away any rough adhesive on the contact surface of the vehicle body to ensure the appropriate surface shape.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
Tech Tips
Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.
Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with a piece of cloth saturated with cleaner.
Tech Tips
Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.
