CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

  2. REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT

      Remove the rear floor mat.

  3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX


    1. A003TAA

      Remove the rear deck floor box.

  4. REMOVE BATTERY BOX COVER


    1. A003UZD

      Disengage the 3 guides and remove the battery box cover.

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH

      *1 Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

    2. Insert a roof moulding remover and slide the remover toward the clip.

    3. A003TXA

      Pull the remover with both hands to disengage the clip as shown in the illustration.

    4. A003RUL

      Disengage the 3 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel end LH.

  7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH

      *1 Protective Tape

      Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

    2. Insert a roof moulding remover and slide the remover toward the clip.

    3. A003TRZ

      Pull the remover with both hands to disengage the clip as shown in the illustration.

    4. A003SOQ

      Disengage the 3 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel end RH.

  8. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX COVER


    1. A003TPH

      Disengage the 4 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides.

    3. Disconnect the connector and remove the rear console box cover.

  9. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL

      Disengage the 7 claws.

    2. Disconnect the connector and remove the upper console panel.

  10. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL


    1. A003SLR

      Remove the 2 screws <E> or <F>.

    2. A003SBJ

      Disengage the 4 claws and 6 clips, and remove the lower center instrument panel finish panel.

  11. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET


    1. A003SK1

      Remove the console box carpet.

  12. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY


    1. A003RVF

      Remove the 4 bolts and 2 screws.

    2. A003TGI

      Disengage the 4 claws and remove the rear console box assembly.

  13. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT

      Disengage the 3 claws.

    2. Disengage the guide and remove the front No. 1 console box insert.

  14. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT

      Disengage the 3 claws.

    2. Disengage the guide and remove the front No. 2 console box insert.

  15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER TRAY

      *1 Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the instrument panel under tray.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  16. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

      Remove the 2 screws <E> or <F>.

    2. A003U7G

      Disengage the 4 claws and 2 guides.

    3. A003TOH

      Disengage the 2 clips and guide, and remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel.

  17. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL


    1. A003RM4

      Remove the 2 screws <E> or <F>.

    2. A003TQO

      Disengage the 2 clips and guide, and remove the lower No. 2 instrument panel finish panel.

  18. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. A003SRW

      Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    4. Remove the 3 bolts and center airbag sensor assembly.
