TOYOTA PARKING ASSIST-SENSOR SYSTEM Clearance Warning Buzzer Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The clearance warning buzzer is an ECU-excited buzzer that sounds when it receives a pulsed digital pattern from the ECU. The ECU operates the buzzer using a sound pattern that changes depending on the distance to the obstacle.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note

Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER - BATTERY)


    1. Disconnect the E105 connector from the No. 1 clearance warning buzzer.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E105-1 (Z+) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      E105-1 (Z+) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU)


    1. Disconnect the E104 connector from the clearance warning ECU assembly.

    2. Disconnect the E105 connector from the No. 1 clearance warning buzzer.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E104-6 (BBZ) - E105-2 (Z-) Always Below 1 Ω
      E104-6 (BBZ) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    OK
  3. REPLACE NO. 1 CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER


    1. Replace the No. 1 clearance warning buzzer with a new or known good one Click here.
