LIGHTING SYSTEM Indicator Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The headlight beam level control system indicator light in the combination meter assembly comes on for approximately 3 seconds when the power switch is turned to on (IG). The indicator light also comes on when the headlight leveling ECU assembly detects a malfunction.

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)

      *1	Front view of wire harness connector (to Combination Meter Assembly)

      Disconnect the L27 combination meter assembly connector.

   2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition L27-19 (IG+) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V Power switch off Below 1 V

   
   

   NG

   REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

   OK

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)

   
   

   1. Disconnect the A48 headlight leveling ECU assembly connector.

   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A48-6 (WNG) - L27-6 (LVWG) Always Below 1 Ω A48-6 (WNG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

   REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

   OK

3. INSPECT NO. 3 METER CIRCUIT PLATE

      Reconnect the L27 combination meter assembly connector.

   2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition L27-6 (LVWG) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
