REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH
Remove the sliding roof side garnish LH.

REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY
Using a T25 "TORX" driver, remove the 6 screws.
Remove the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
REMOVE TILT ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY
Using a T20 "TORX" driver, remove the 6 screws and tilt roof glass sub-assembly.

REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH
CAUTION:
When storing the curtain shield airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
Check that the power switch is off.
Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, release the airbag connector lock and disconnect the curtain shield airbag connector.
Note
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Remove the 5 bolts.
Remove the 4 clips.

Using a clip remover, remove the 4 pins.

Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, separate the 4 clips and curtain shield airbag assembly from the body as shown in the illustration.
Disengage the 5 hooks to remove the curtain shield airbag assembly.
Remove the 4 clips and 4 spacers from the curtain shield airbag assembly.
REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH

REMOVE REAR SIDE RAIL SPACER LH
Disengage the 2 clamps and remove the rear side rail spacer LH.

REMOVE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the 2 bolts and sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly.
REMOVE FRONT SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET LH
Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and front sliding roof housing mounting bracket LH.
REMOVE FRONT SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET RH

Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and center sliding roof housing mounting bracket LH.

REMOVE SLIDING ROOF RAIL SUB-ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the connector.
Disengage the clamp.
Remove the 12 nuts and sliding roof rail sub-assembly.
REMOVE MOON ROOF GLASS ASSEMBLY

Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

Place matchmarks on the moon roof glass assembly and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Matchmarks are not necessary if the moon roof glass assembly is not going to be reused.

Pass a piano wire between the rear slide roof panel sub-assembly and moon roof glass assembly from the interior, as shown in the illustration.
Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects that can serve as handles.
Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the moon roof glass assembly.
Using suction cups, disengage the 2 clips and remove the moon roof glass assembly.
CLEAN MOON ROOF GLASS ASSEMBLY
Clean the outer edge of the moon roof glass with a non-residue solvent.
Note
Do not touch the moon roof glass surface after cleaning it.
Be careful not to damage the glass.
Even if using a new moon roof glass, clean the moon roof glass with a non-residue solvent.
CLEAN REAR SLIDE ROOF PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

Using a scraper, remove the moulding and adhesive from the moon roof glass.
Clean and shape the contact surfaces of the rear slide roof panel sub-assembly.
Using a knife, cut away excess adhesive on the contact surfaces of the rear slide roof panel sub-assembly, as shown in the illustration.
Note
Be careful not to damage the rear slide roof panel sub-assembly.
Clean the contact surfaces of the rear slide roof panel sub-assembly with a piece of cloth saturated with cleaner.
Tech Tips
Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the rear slide roof panel sub-assembly.
REMOVE REAR SLIDE ROOF PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
Remove the 16 nuts and rear slide roof panel sub-assembly.
Note
When removing the roof panel, be careful not to damage the vehicle.
Perform this step with 2 or more technicians.
