DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when the combination meter assembly (No. 3 meter circuit plate) detects a fuel sender gauge malfunction via a direct line.

  1. Fuel sender gauge operation malfunction


  • Harness or connector

  • Fuel sender gauge assembly

  • Combination meter assembly (No. 3 meter circuit plate)

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (FUEL INPUT)


    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body / Combination Meter / Data List.

    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

      Disconnect the L27 connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 3 METER CIRCUIT PLATE - FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the R11 connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      L27-14 (L) - R11-2 (FS) Always Below 1 Ω
      L27-14 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      L27-15 (ES2) - R11-3 (FE) Always Below 1 Ω

  4. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly Click here.

    2. Check that the float moves smoothly between E and F.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Type A
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Float level is F (upper) 13.5 to 16.5 Ω
      1 - 2 Float level is between F (upper) and E (lower) 13.5 to 414.5 Ω (Gradually changes)
      1 - 2 Float level is E (lower) 405.5 to 414.5 Ω

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Float level is F (upper) 12.0 to 18.0 Ω
      1 - 2 Float level is between F (upper) and E (lower) 12.0 to 415.0 Ω (Gradually changes)

  5. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (METER CIRCUIT PLATE)


    1. Replace the combination meter assembly (meter circuit plate) to a new or a known good one Click here.
