DESCRIPTION

The engine hood courtesy switch is installed together with the hood lock. This switch turns on when the engine hood is closed and turns off when the engine hood is opened.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER

   
   

   1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

   2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

   4. Select the item below in the Data List and read the display on the intelligent tester.

      Main Body

      The indicator on the intelligent tester switches between ON and OFF in accordance with the engine hood courtesy switch status.

   REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Click here

2. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

   
   

   1. Disconnect the 2C instrument panel junction block assembly and A main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connectors.

      

   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2C-38 - A-20 (HCTY) Always Below 1 Ω

      Disconnect the A47 engine hood courtesy switch connector.

   2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
