HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE

  2. REMOVE FRONT CROSS MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Using a transmission jack, support the engine assembly with transaxle.

    2. A01JBBP

      Remove the 2 bolts and separate the front cross member sub-assembly from the engine mounting insulator.

    3. A01J8FJ

      Remove the 4 bolts and front cross member sub-assembly.

  3. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

      Remove the 2 bolts and front engine mounting insulator.

  4. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR


    1. A01JBPZ

      Remove the through bolt, and separate the rear engine mounting insulator.

      Tech Tips

      Perform this procedure only when replacement of the engine mounting insulator is necessary.

  5. REMOVE RADIATOR PIPE


    1. A01JDC2

      Separate the No. 3 radiator hose from the cylinder head.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and radiator pipe.

  6. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS


    1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 6 connectors and 12 wire harness clamps.

  7. REMOVE STARTER HOLE INSULATOR


    1. A01JCUT

      Remove the 2 bolts and starter hole insulator.

  8. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER

      Remove the flywheel housing side cover.

  9. REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Using wood blocks or equivalent, set an engine lifter to the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      Note

      Using a rope, wooden blocks or equivalent, secure the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly to the engine lifter.

      Remove the 7 bolts and hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

      Note

      To avoid damage to the knock pin, do not pry the connecting surfaces of the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly and the engine assembly.

  10. REMOVE GENERATOR CABLE

    Note

    Wear insulated gloves.

      Disconnect the generator cable clamp from the motor cable bracket.

    2. A01JBQU

      Remove the 3 bolts and slide the generator cable connector shell back.

    3. A01J9KJ

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the terminal cap.

    4. A01JBDJ

      Remove the 3 bolts and generator cable from the hybrid transaxle assembly.

  11. REMOVE MOTOR CABLE

    Note

    Wear insulated gloves.

      Disconnect the 3 clamps.

    2. A01J9L1

      Remove the 2 bolts and slide the motor cable connector shell back.

    3. A01J8L0

      Disengage the 2 claws to remove the terminal cap.

    4. A01J8DE

      Remove the 3 bolts and motor cable from the hybrid transaxle assembly.

  12. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET


    1. A01J8F8

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets.

  13. REMOVE MOTOR CABLE BRACKET


    1. A01JAEE

      Remove the bolt and motor cable bracket.

  14. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET


    1. A01J9W6

      Remove the 3 bolts and front engine mounting bracket.

  15. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

      Remove the 4 bolts and rear engine mounting bracket.

  16. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH


    1. A01JD38

      Remove the 3 bolts and engine mounting bracket LH.
