HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for LHD and RHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

      Remove the 7 clips and radiator support opening cover.

  4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH


    1. A003E4AE01

      Using a screwdriver, turn the pin 90 degrees and remove the pin hold clip.

    2. A003CAP

      Remove the 6 screws from the fender liner.

    3. A003E2G

      Remove the 5 grommets from the fender liner.

      Tech Tips

      The grommets need to be replaced with new ones because they will break when they are removed.

    4. Remove the 8 clips and fender liner.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 screws <A>.

    2. Detach the claw.

    3. A00ONIX

      Disconnect the connectors.

    4. Detach the guide and remove the under cover.

  6. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. A00ONX5E01

      Remove the 3 bolts and hood lock.

    2. Disconnect the hood lock control cable.

    3. w/ Engine Hood Courtesy Switch:

      Disconnect the connector.

  7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A00OJGA

      Detach the 3 claws.

    2. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock lever.

  8. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

      *5 Instrument Panel Wire
      *6 Hood Lock Control Cable Grommet
      *7 Floor Wire

      Tie a string to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.

    2. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the clamps shown in the illustration.

      Rear Washer Hose

      *3 Bypass Hose *8 Grommet

      *5 Fender Liner *10 Plug Hole

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Pull the cable from the engine room and remove it.

  9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

      Tie a string to the end of the hood lock control cable assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.

    2. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the clamps shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Pull the cable from the engine room and remove it.
