FRONT SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install front seat airbag assembly LH with 2 new nuts.

      Torque:
      6.0 N*m  { 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf }

    2. Attach the 4 harness clamps and connect the connector clamp.

  2. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK PAD (for Manual Seat)

    1. Install the separate type front seatback pad.

  3. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK PAD (for Power Seat)

    1. Install the separate type front seatback pad.

  4. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER (for Manual Seat)

      Attach the 2 hooks.

    2. A00OMKO

      Attach the 2 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

    3. w/ Active Headrest:


      1. A00OJU0

        Install the front seat headrest assembly.

        Note

        Push in the front seat headrest assembly until the headrest lock engages.

      2. A00ONJ0

        Pass the cable through the hole of the seatback frame.

      3. A00OJDI

        Attach the 2 claws to install the clip.

        Pull the cable through the clip until the cable end reaches the clip.

        Install a new cable tie.

        *2 Hog Ring
        *3 Hog Ring Pliers

        Attach the 2 hooks to close the seatback mat.

      7. Using hog ring pliers, install a new hog ring.

        Attach the 2 claws to connect the cable to the active headrest lower unit.

        Attach the 2 claws to install the active headrest lower unit.

        Pull the cable and connect the cable end to the active headrest lower unit.

        Attach the 7 hooks to install the actuator shield.

      *3 Hog Ring Pliers

      Attach the 3 hooks.

    5. Using hog ring pliers, install the upper part of the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seatback pad with new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

      Attach the seatback cover bracket with the screw.

      Note

      After the separate type front seatback cover is installed, make sure the seatback cover bracket is not twisted.

      Pass the 2 straps through the 2 holes of the separate type front seatback pad to the backside.

      Attach the 2 hooks to connect the 2 straps.

    9. A00OILD

      Attach the 2 hooks at the bottom of the separate type front seatback cover.

    10. Attach the 2 hooks.

      w/o Active Headrest:

      Install the front seat headrest assembly.

      Note

      Push in the front seat headrest assembly until the headrest lock engages.

  5. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER (for Power Seat)


    1. A00ONM4

      Attach the 2 hooks.

    2. A00OMKO

      Attach the 2 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

      Install the front seat headrest assembly.

      Note

      Push in the front seat headrest assembly until the headrest lock engages.

      Pass the cable through the hole of the seatback frame.

      Attach the 2 claws to install the clip.

      Pull the cable through the clip until the cable end reaches the clip.

      Install a new cable tie.

      Attach the 2 hooks and close the seatback mat.

    9. Using hog ring pliers, install a new hog ring.

      Attach the 2 claws to connect the cable to the active headrest lower unit.

      Attach the 2 claws to install the active headrest lower unit.

      Pull the cable and connect the cable end to the active headrest lower unit.

      Attach the 7 hooks to install the actuator shield.

      Attach the 3 hooks.

    15. Using hog ring pliers, install the upper part of the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seatback pad with new hog rings.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

      Attach the seatback cover bracket with the screw.

      Note

      After the separate type front seatback cover is installed, make sure the seatback cover bracket is not twisted.

      Pass the 2 straps through the 2 holes of the separate type front seatback pad to the backside.

      Attach the 2 hooks to connect the 2 straps.

    19. A00OILD

      Attach the 2 hooks at the bottom of the separate type front seatback cover.

    20. Attach the 2 hooks.

  6. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH

      Attach the wire harness clamp and hook to install the front seat inner cushion shield LH.

    2. Install the 2 screws.

  7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH (for Manual Seat)

      w/ Lumbar Support:

      Connect the connector.

    2. A00OJGH

      Attach the claw and hook to install the front seat cushion shield LH.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

      Attach the 2 rubber bands.

  8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH WITH FRONT SEAT NO. 1 INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH (for Power Seat)


    1. A00OMVA

      for Driver Side:

      Connect the connector.

    2. A00OJR5

      Attach the hook to install the front seat cushion shield LH with front seat inner No. 1 cushion shield.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

    4. A00ONUD

      Attach the 2 claws and install the 2 screws.

    5. A00OI4P

      Attach the 2 rubber bands.

  9. INSTALL SLIDE & VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB (for Power Seat)


    1. A00OIGD

      Attach the 4 claws to install the slide and vertical power seat switch knob.

  10. INSTALL RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB (for Power Seat)

      Attach the 2 claws to install the reclining power seat switch knob.

  11. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH (for Manual Seat)

      Attach the claw to install the reclining adjuster release handle LH.

  12. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE LH (for Manual Seat Driver Side)

      Install the vertical adjusting handle LH with the 2 screws.

  13. INSTALL VERTICAL SEAT ADJUSTER KNOB CAP (for Manual Seat Driver Side)

      Attach the 3 claws to install the vertical seat adjuster knob cap.
