DESCRIPTION

w/ VSC:

The yaw rate sensor has a built-in G sensor. The electric parking brake ECU receives vehicle tilt information from the yaw rate sensor via CAN communication.

w/o VSC:

The parking brake with bracket actuator assembly has a built-in G sensor.

One of the following conditions is met:


  • The G sensor signal exceeds the specified range.

  • The calculated offset of the G sensor signal is out of the specified range.

  • The G sensor internal test failed.


  • Yaw rate sensor (w/ VSC)

  • Parking brake with bracket actuator assembly (w/o VSC)

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • Before performing work, turn the ignition switch off and wait approximately 20 seconds to make sure that the parking brake cannot operate.

  • When replacing the parking brake with bracket actuator assembly and/or yaw rate sensor, perform zero point calibration Click here.

  1. CHECK BRAKE CONTROL TYPE


    1. Check the brake control type.

  2. CHECK DTC (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM)


    1. Check if a yaw rate sensor malfunction DTC is output for the vehicle stability control system Click here.

  3. RECONFIRM DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 2 minutes or more.

    3. Check for DTCs Click here.

  4. CHECK PARKING BRAKE WITH BRACKET ACTUATOR INSTALLATION


    1. Check that the parking brake with bracket actuator is installed properly Click here.

      OK
      The parking brake with bracket actuator is tightened to the specified torque.
      The parking brake with bracket actuator is not tilted.

    OK
  5. RECONFIRM DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) or more for 2 minutes or more.

    3. Check for DTCs Click here.
