TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

      Remove the 7 clips and radiator support opening cover.

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

      Hold the rear of the cover and raise it to detach the 2 clips on the rear of the cover. Continue to raise the cover to detach the 2 clips on the front of the cover and remove the cover.

      Note

      Attempting to detach both front and rear clips at the same time may cause the cover to break.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    • w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

      After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  4. REMOVE BATTERY


    1. Disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.

    2. Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.

    3. Remove the battery clamp.

    4. Remove the battery.

    5. Remove the battery tray.

  5. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER

      Disconnect the 2 wire harness clamps from the battery carrier.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the radiator pipe from the battery carrier.

      Remove the 4 bolts and battery carrier.

  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP AND HOSE

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector.

    2. Detach the wire harness from the 2 clamps.

      Disconnect the 2 clamps.

    4. A010IQW

      Disconnect the ventilation hose.

    5. Loosen the band and remove the air cleaner cap.

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Detach the wire harness clamp from the air cleaner case.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and air cleaner case.

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

      Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and under cover.

  9. DISCONNECT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR CONNECTOR

  10. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Detach the clamp and disconnect the heated oxygen sensor wire harness.

    2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector.

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs.

    5. Remove the 2 exhaust pipe supports and front exhaust pipe assembly.

  11. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR NO. 1 HEAT INSULATOR

    1. Remove the 5 nuts and heat insulator.

  12. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the console box assembly Click here

  13. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY


    1. Move the shift lever to N.

      Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable from the shift lever.

      Using a screwdriver, pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable.

      Note

      Do not remove the stopper. If the stopper is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

    4. Rotate the nut of the transmission control cable counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.

      Note

      Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable will not be reusable.

      Remove the nut and disconnect the control cable assembly from the control shaft lever.

    6. Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control cable from the control cable bracket.

    7. A00OMAY

      Disconnect the control cable from the control cable bracket.

    8. A00OKT9

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the transmission control cable support.

    9. A00ONHR

      Remove the 2 nuts and disconnect the transmission control cable.

    10. Pull out the transmission control cable.
